Lisätietoja Walporzheimer Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG - Meyer-Näkel
With the Meyer-Näkel Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG, a first-class red wine is poured into the wine glass. It presents a wonderfully luminous, bright red color. After the first swirl, you can perceive an excellent balance in this red wine, as it does not appear watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. In the glass, this red wine from Meyer-Näkel offers aromas of plums, blackberries, black cherries, and blackcurrants, complemented by vanilla, oriental spices, and gingerbread spice. This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was produced with only 0.1 grams of residual sugar per liter. As one might naturally expect from a wine in the Icon-Wine segment, this German wine captivates with refined balance despite its dryness. Aromas do not necessarily require much sugar. Well-balanced and multifaceted, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. Its vibrant fruit acidity makes the Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The long finish delights the wine region Ahr’s wine with noticeable length. Once again, hints of plum and blackberry emerge. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by sandstone and clay join in.
Vinification of the Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG by Meyer-Näkel
The basis for the balanced Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG from the Ahr are grapes from the Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) variety. In the Ahr, the vines producing the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and sandstone. The grapes of this red wine from Meyer-Näkel also do not grow in the flatlands, but rather their roots delve into the subsoil on steep slopes. The steep vineyard cultivation ensures that even in cooler wine-growing regions with shorter growing seasons, the vines receive maximum sunlight. The Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG is an old-world wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the harvest for this Spätburgunder wine is significantly influenced by the climate of the growing region. In the Ahr, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and uniform berries and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for this German red wine are harvested exclusively by hand at the point of optimal ripeness. After harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery, where they are selected and gently crushed. Subsequently, fermentation takes place in small wooden vessels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder GG is aged for 16 months in oak barriques. Following maturation in oak casks, the wine undergoes a significant bottle aging, which adds further complexity to this red wine.
